Now that summer's began, I feel it my duty to tell all of my loyal listeners... haha.... how I amuse myself, that I have fallen in love. With Livejournal. Ok, first of all, for those who don't know, my pretty little laptop died, and with its demise, went all of my favorites list... and I lost all of my blogs :( so I figured, perhaps... I will be able to search the blogger network and find my long lost friends. However, unlike livejournal, that is not an option of the illustrious blogger, so my friends are lost to the ages, never to be seen again, unless by some miracle, google at large can produce them. Also, I find the idea of friending much simpler than all of this link stuff... so, unless further stated, I bid a fond farewell to my dear, beloved blogger.

By the way. I'm tired of angsty teens. Myself included.

Ok. I've been busy. No excuse but whatever. started a live journal. just rant on it. I'm using this entry to say: TGISB!!! ( I think you know what that means) If not, I pity you. Ok, ok, its THANK GOD IT'S SPRING BREAK!!! By the way, Phenol if you're reading this, ignore that moron's entry. The same thing happened to me, and suddenly I got all suspicious. Looking at everyone weird. But you won't do that b/c you are cooler than me. By the way, how did speech go? BL. (perhaps much later) NP.

Shopping
Well... now its winter break and I'm free to post as often and non-concisely as I want (ie rambling) I think I am entitled to that. Now. At this point I could go on and on about all the problems with our school, not that I'll mention them by name or anything because its pretty much just about every policy that we have. Come to think of it, there isn't one policy that I believe in. At all. But then again, coming from me that sounds like the most hypocritical statement b/c I'm "succeeding" or whatever teachers want to say about me (meaning of course taht I haven't dropped out yet.

Anyways, the main point of my rant today was about christmas (or holiday for all of you non-christians- I was after all raised to be very politically correct and culturally aware at my school) shopping. I went to the local mall near my house, and it was absolutely horrendous. It took me about 3 minutes to get into the parking lot, and then about another 15 to actually find a spot, and that spot was so far away that it would have almost been quicker for me to walk home then to walk to the mall, and then I get inside. Now, I didn't have any problems getting through the stores, or anything like that.

Although, has anyone else noticed that the quality of food gets noticably worse during the holiday season. I realize that its b/c a large group of fellow teens just got jobs before winter break, and haven't the faintest idea of how to actually prepare food, but that doesn't make it anymore acceptable. Anyways, the point of that is that I got a typical cocoa from reindeer, but after drinking it, there were no signals or taste confirmation that it was cocoa. I thought I was drinking coffee, and then pygmy took a sip, and she said it tastes like Irish vanilla ( or something like that) So, when I heard that, I thought she was talking about liquor or something, and I wasn't really sure how to react. So I wasn't very happy about the decline in quality of my preferred drink.

Then back to me actually being in the mall. I came to the conclusion that under no circumstances will I ever, EVER allow myself to have a credit card. When I walk into a store, I want to buy everything, and the only thing that prevented me from doing it today was that I only had limited money. So I kept walking back and forth from American Eagle to Aeropostale and back, trying to see if sometime in the 5 minutes that I had been in the other store, suddenly they were having a large sale and I would be saved. That never happened however, and I ended up being my cheap self, and buying things for price instead of actual compatability w/ the person. I mean, it wasn't like I bought lipstick for my dad, or a car for pygmy, but I'm not sure taht I was perfect w/ their gifts. I will have you know however, that I did get gift receipts for all the stuff so it can be returned.

So, I went all over the mall, and I kept thinking... "This is not christmas." Mainly, because there is no snow, and I want to know to whom I can send my complaints b/c there is going to be some very loud complaining. But I think that its also the fact that I'm so busy w/ school this year. i noticed the same thing last year. I remember when I was in middle and lower school, we would spend weeks preparing for Christmas and making the cookies and decorating the house, and this year I was so busy making sure school was going well that I totally forgot about it. Atleast this year I managed to get my friends presents in time.

Luckily, we're going to Chicago on tues. so maybe that will put me more in the mood. I thought the mall was bad. Whenever i go to chicago, and try to walk down the sides of the street the days before christmas, I literally feel like a rat in a maze. It's like you have no room to move in any direction- much like a concert or big NBA game, but its on the streets of chicago, and then the actual road is packed with cars, and it is the only time I am ever glad to be staying at a hotel and not have a car to drive.

Back to the mall again. I managed to buy things for all of the family, excluding the dog. And somewhere along the way I picked up my sister, and then we prepared to leave and go across the street (almost literally, to Tar-ge the fine french boutique) A trip that normally takes 1-2 minutes took 15-17, and that's when I started looking at the clock, almost 5 min. after I attempted to get out of there. We had to fight for space and people looked absolutely astonished that I let them in and away from that labrynith of cars. Then I get to tar-ge and mercifully see someone that I know. I mean, I love that store soo much. If I could live there I would. They have like every dvd for really cheap and it is so cool. I bought like 6 DVD's and then fought my way out.

After about 3 hours, endless looking at stuff that I'll never buy, buying 6 mediocre gifts for my family that I already know they will hate, and about 2 or 3 driving manoevers that I hope that I will never have to perform again. I am done, and have resolved to do all my shopping online. BL. NP.

Wow... It's almost been a month and a half since I posted last. It feels like it's only been about four days, so of course I'm reminded of english and One Flew Over the cuckoo's nest and miss ratched who can "slow down and speed up time", which of course is coming from the crazy bromden, but is he really crazy?

So then I start thinking about how much I hate my english class and how that teacher is the bain of my existence. I mean in the long run, it will be good for me, but I don't know if I can survive until then. Then I get started on how much I hate the teachers at our school, and how in my deep paranoia, I think that they are all out to get me and destroy my grades, which could be true, right?

Then that reminds me of all of the problems with our school, and how they can't seem to go a day without making some stupid decision that makes me just want to run away in fear screaming at the top of my lungs. I'm not even going to get started on the pendulum because that is possibly the stupidest idea I've ever heard of.

I realize that it was a 3 mil. donation that paid for it, but if you can afford to spend 3 mil. dollars on a PENDULUM. Then you are a scrooge. Why wouldn't you do something useful with it, like give it to some African/ health organization so they could buy some drugs to help treat the Aids epidemic in Africa. Or you could go on a trip around the world, or if you've already done that, go to the moon. That's about how much the russians charge, and you would be helping an economy/govt. that is less powerful than ours, and you would be helping an ailing space program. You could start a fund for all of the widows from the war in Iraq. I mean, there are millions of things that you could spend the money on, but you bought a PENDULUM!!!! I mean, it makes more sense to give an Amazonian tribe that has secluded itself from the world a laptop computer than it does to BUY A PENDULUM!!

And then there's the back pack rule. Ok, I don't mind the fact that we have to have them, but its during assemblies (where all of us are packed into the tiny assembly room, which in itself is probably a fire hazard) that really annoy me because before the first assembly, no one had piled up books in the senior lounge, we had put them under benches and in the designated areas, but oh no, our lovely administration decided to go around and pick up every backpack and throw them into the far corners of our school, and then waste class time while the kids try to figure out where their backpack is. i've seriously considered buying a big backpack and filling it with lead weights. Taht would show them.

Oh god.. have to go do my homework. Let's see...latin, french, english and a bit of history.... lovely day isn't it? and I thought I'd get to sleep!! ha... how naive I am.

Thought of the day: We are constantly told that we as teenagers should be enjoying the time we have, but yet, we are constantly also told that colleges are always watching and they SEE YOUR GRADES implying that you need to make sure that you get good grades in all of your classes and that you need to do all of these extracurricular activities, just so you can show colleges that you really do care, then what time do you have to enjoy time?

You know what, maybe that is just my problem. Oh well, I think it's interesting... Do you think teachers get together in a big group and like laugh at people behind their back? "She got WHAT on her math test?" " He thought the capital of England was Liverpool??" I bet they have so much fun. BL. NP.

RED SOCKS WON!!!!!

(For those of you who don't know, I'm talking about the World Series) Not only did they beat the Yankees who have an enormous amount of money to pay for players, but they haven't won the World Series since 1918, as I'm sure you are all now aware. The bad sports commercials have already started up. Nike has one on about 2 minutes after they won, showing these poor men spend their entire lives watching the Red Socks lose and then when they are like in their 70's to 90's, their team finally wins, and instead of seeing like actual heartfelt emotion from these people, we see
"Just do it" and a nike symbol.
How pathetic.
Another upsetting factor is that two of the guys who used to be on our team got traded to Boston and now they have pretty little rings while our guys are back in the tundra having their field ripped up to make way for a football field.

Oh great... another negative campaign in the background. It's an anti-Kerry ad. I can tell because of the ominous tone that the music took. As in if you vote for him rabid wolves will come out of the woods and EAT you.

Kerry's talking about how he's going to improve the economy when he becomes president. Okey day, first of all, the president has like NO control over the economy, and also, trends don't just appear based on the last month or even years. Most economic trends are in multiple year cycles, so most of what Bush is experiencing could be an effect of the Clinton administration, if you really want to think about it.

Also, because of the great country that we live in, we created our industry separately so that the government wouldn't be able to completely control it. Supposedly, we have a free market system, meaning, in stupid sophomore terms, that the govt. doesn't control us. (Guess I'll learn about that in Econ CIS) Hence the president really doesn't have that much control over who's losing and gaining jobs. So, I really don't want to hear any more about the economy. Sure, people have lost jobs, but sometime in the future, there will be more jobs that people can have, and I realize how bad that sounds, but its just a function of our society.

You can not have a free market system where everyone is guaranteed a job. Our system thrives on competition and if there is no competition for jobs, then our system isn't working. If everyone were guaranteed a job, then they would be lazy and not get their work done because they would know that they would not get fired. Does that make any sense at all? I hope so because I do try. BL. NP.

Ohh.... how I detest school. There isn't a single class that I enjoy save Latin. I keep looking at everything I have to do, and I'm sad. I really don't know about anything anymore. I really don't like anything that I'm doing, and I'm afraid that I never will.

On another note, I never realized how obsessed people are with the election. This will be an election that everyone will remember. It will have an amazingly high voter turnout and it will definitely be close. I think that eventually we'll have a third party that will cater to the middle of the road voters and they will just dominate. For example, if John McCain were to run for president as an independent, I think that he could win. Do I have any proof to back this up? Of course not, but it's interesting to think about. I think that there will soon be a shift in the way that we hold elections. People's views are so conflicted at this point, and the parties are becoming more and more "you either are or you're not" and all of these people have views that they agree with on both sides. Imagine if there were a candidate that you could agree with on most issues. That would be amazing. Sorry. Just another little rant from the girl that you all love. BL. NP.

Let's see. Pick one of the following five answers that best answers the question posed below. If you so feel, use a number two pencil and fill in many, many little ovals that correspond to the correct answer. Be sure to fill in all of the space though because even the slightest pencil mark outside of the oval will cause the problem to be wrong.

1. What is the purpose of the pPSAT?
a) to better prepare you to take the actual SAT
b) to make most sophomores shiver in fear as they read the words "FILL IN MAJOR"
c) to show sophomores just how much they are actually going to have to study before they take their SAT's.
d) To allow most of the kids to fail here, so that they don't fail when it actually matters.
e) To add a little more to the ever growing credit card statement that is known as high school.
(How much do you think that pre-test cost our poor impoverished parents?)

2. What part of the test did NP like the most?
a) Reading Comprehension
b) Writing down your own answer math
c) The fact that kids were late "due to traffic"
d) The part where we filled out the information, which actually took longer than one of the sessions of the test.
e) The bathroom break.

3. What part of the test did NP like the least?
a) The grammar section (who really knows grammar anyways. I know French grammar better than English grammar. Maybe I should take the SAT in french. It would make more sense)
b) The section on parapsychology
c) The math sections where her calculator threatened to shut off.
d) The fact that complete idiots could do as well as her, if they knew how to guess well
e) The section where the air conditioner just randomly shut off. (I need that background drone to help me on tests.)
(extra choice) f) Walking in the rain to take the test because they didn't have room for us at the school.

4. Which major will most of the kids in my class put on their pPSAT?
a) prelaw
b) premed
c) secondary education
d) no idea because I thought that was what parents were for, to give you money
e) wait.... you have to take classes in college??? I thought you just drank lots of liquor and partied!!!

This concludes the first section of NP's revisions to the pPSAT. Please fold up your answer sheet, proceed to the nearest trash can, and throw it out because that is where it will end up anyways. Apparently, this guy at the PSAT office just sits at his desk all day, looks at a name, and shoots an arrow on a dartboard to see what score they will get.
Hmmm... Braniac McGee- 70 %tile
Hock E. Player- 89%ile,
and Will Shakes-Peare- 60%ile (apparently, he didn't know grammar well enough)

But remember folks... It's just the pPSAT. It doesn't really matter...... (or does it? Mwa hahaha) BL. NP.
