Why doesn't anything interesting happen to me?... Wait, never mind, my brain is frozen, and I no longer have the ability to think. Please forgive my stupid ranting. Last night, I read two books that I got for Christmas. (Note: books are much more useful than an over-priced wallet)
One was the latest Sammy Keyes book. It showed the "normal" life of a 13 year-old seventh grader in California. I think that the author must be a genius because she somehow manages to make us relate to this girl who is always solving crimes, is liked by a cute EIGHTH grader, and has great friends. She is like the Nancy Drew of today, except that Sammy Keyes is all written by the same author. I have realized the reason we like ND and SK is because they went through a traumatic experience and are still able to use wit, and sheer luck to solve any problem they encounter.
The other one was an average book that is the last in a quartet in a fantasy series with so many turns, that I could never really tell who was related to each other. It was one of those series when the girl you never really knew is actually your sister, and is getting married to your brother-in-law, or something like that. Anyway, I know everyone who reads this blog doesn't read fantasy, so I should probably just stop now.
Then I had to finish NCS, which I thought was due tomorrow. Anyways, I had to write 2! essays. The first one I rambled about the reasons why I wanted to go there- great education, good people, good sports, good values. etc. Then in the 2nd one I had to write about my strengths. My response was, well, it is hard to determine what strengths are because other people may disagree with me. (I mentioned 8th SS Teacher- my favorite) Then my last paragraph was a list of words that describe me including hard-working, a leader, honest, nervous, worried, and a procrastinator. I then had to go on to explain that at different times in my life, each of these words means a strength. Procrastinator means I am able to have some semblance of fun over break. Anyways, then I went to bed.
I had to wake up early to get to basketball practice, which started at 10. I got there at 9:50, and didn't see anyone around. (Note: If you have a sports practice, NEVER LEAVE YOUR CELL PHONE IN YOUR COAT POCKET AT HOME!!!!) I spent the next 1/2 hour banging on every locked door imaginable. There was no answer. Now, I was only wearing a sweatshirt (blue, of course) and a pair of button-up warm-up pants. (Note: The wind can get through button-up warm-up pants). So by this time, my fingers were little popsicles. I finally got into the school by going up to the entrance where the phone is by the door, and called my dad. It was a very bad experience.
Then I went to the mall, and my dad went into Old Navy. I sat in the car, and listened to classic rock. (My new favorite dead singer is Warren Zevon- Werewolves in London) Then I ran a stop sign as I eagerly drove to Subway to get my usual. On the way home, I saw a poor adolescent who was taking behind-the-wheel in the junior high parking lot. I would hate to have to learn how to drive in winter. That's why it is so great LT, Yuki, and I have summer birthdays.... Oh, but that's right, only I got to experience the joy of learning how to drive in the summer. Just think about all the fun I will have next year, as people beg me for rides because they didn't take driver's ed before. He He He He.
I don't have anything else to say, except that I hope you all have a better New Year than me. That probably won't be hard because I get to eat pizza with my sister, and I will probably be forced to watch some stupid Mary Kate & Ashley marathon, while my parents are at a party. However, my mom did say she would tell people that I can baby-sit, although she thinks I don't have enough time. I don't know how she would know, but never mind. Tomorrow I get to go some former law partner of mom's party, and she is married to a French soccer player. Just wait...mom will tell them I speak French, and they will start bombarding me with questions in the most confusing language ever, and I will look COMPLETELY STUPID. I should just follow LT's example, and say, "Je ne parle pas beaucoup de francais. J'espere que vous parliez anglais." (Translation: I don't speak a lot of French, I hope that you speak English.) Also, I think my parents may still make me go to SoDak. Final thought- I just realized that I have all next weekend to study for my finals, so why should I worry about them over break? BL. NP.
The Life and Times of Book Girl, Perfectionist
This is about me...Book Girl aka Normal Python. My friend the mad-skill Tatertot set this up for me because she rocks. (ahahaha :0)) Maybe. Well, I can't get rid of that one. I've gotten many more nicknames & now I've changed the template so... This is my blog. A high schooler who feels old. A licensed driver w/ car troubles. If I've updated, you know it's a big deal!!

Today was a good day. I woke up with my dad leering into my face saying very slowly and distinctly, "It is 11:15, and we are leaving in 15 minutes." I quickly got up from the couch in the living room which is now officially my bed over break, went upstairs and changed into my basketball uniform. Then I quickly ate my breakfast of yogurt, and a very old cinnamon roll.
Even though I was supposed to not drive today, my dad let me drive to and from the game. Of course, my sister was in the back, and almost burst into tears every time my dad gave me a "gentle" reminder. The car was filled with screams of "We're going to DIE! NP is going to kill us, and I didn't even get to go to SB. (For those who don't know, SB is a place where you create things with beads.)
I have decided Inglewoods is definitely in the middle of nowhere. I had to take 88 to 218 to 476 to get there, and on the way back, I had to take 476 to 218 to 88. I probably left out a few, or got a few wrong. For those who might be confused by these apparently random numbers, you obviously can't, or won't, get your permit yet because these are all names of major highways in our town's wonderful transportation system. Luckily, LT will never have to learn these numbers because she plans to always use public transportation, if it ever exists here.
WE FINALLY WON A GAME, AND I GOT 8 POINTS! For those who haven't seen me play basketball, this is a very, very high amount for me. In the entire season last year, I only got 2 points. Also, it was against someone who is in our conference, Highland. I was very happy with myself, also everyone on the team scored which is a good thing. Tomorrow, I have a practice at 10! am. This is too early for me, and it is on NEW YEAR'S EVE! And next Monday, when I should be desperately flipping through all the material we have done this semester, I will instead be in a hot, sweaty gym, doing sprints because we didn't run down the court fast enough.
Anyways, I hope no one has died since my last post. (Note: Yuki, the probability of you dying in a plane crash is a lot less than you dying in a car crash... Oh that's right, you don't drive either so that's not a problem. Another thing is that there is spell check for posts. Didn't you read over before you posted?) I should probably go finish NCS and GDS, BL. NP.

Well, I'm back from Beni Hana's and still have no idea what I'm doing. First, I was awoken (awakened?) early for me during break (10 am!) and was forced to drive to Simbladen High School. Does anyone one know where this is? I didn't think so. In the school, there is a room with very interesting posters.
Basketball- We played Simbladen, who weren't very good, so of course we.... lost. I was almost surprised, but seeing as how we missed around 10 layups (which are supposed to be the easiest shots in basketball), and only lost by 6 or so, I was pretty happy. Based on past results, losing by about 30 in the first game, and now 6 in the second game, tomorrow we should win by about 24 points! Although there is a very small possiblity of that happening.
1st dinner- I was invited to my coach's house. Naturally, it is a beautiful house in the middle of SCS. There I ate very good meatballs and pasta, and had some cake that wasn't great, even though it was made from that mix that you buy in a box, which I thought was impossible to ruin. I WAS WRONG! I only said around 10 words the entire time I was there, but it was still really fun because 2 sophmores and my coach kept teasing each other. Then I left.
2nd dinner- I was sitting at my dad's computer, responding to emails and desperately trying to figure out any way to change some of the horrendous colors that LT chose for my blog. I still wasn't able to figure out how to change some of them. Then I got told that the car should have left five minutes ago, and quickly left.
We got there, had to wait around 15 minutes for a couple to show up, who annoyed us thoroughly in about three minutes. Then it took another 10 minutes for the cook, or whatever you call those guys who flip the food, to come, and he wasn't very inventive with his show. Then the girl of the couple complained because she had said her order wrong and didn't have the right food, so my onions were undercooked. I don't understand why she was upset. They gave her lobster instead of shrimp, and she wanted the shrimp. Isn't that like wanting 1 piece of greasy 3-day old pizza instead of a 4-cheese & tomato pizza from CPK? I was still very hungry though, so I managed to eat a lot of the wonderful shrimp. I was very grateful he managed not to destroy them.
After- Then I went home, and went to the website of this mailing that I got today that wants me to go for two weeks this summer to a People to People Sports Ambassador Program which is in FRANCE and Switzerland. It looks a little interesting, and I would get to play basketball against many different Europeans. Then I went on the internet to look for a volunteer oppurtunity to become the perfect, well-rounded child. It was very hard work, and I found about 5 places in an hour. It was definitely a waste of time, which would be better spent studying or completing the forms my parents want me to fill out (NCS & GDS) Anyway, I hope you find all of my ramblings a little interesting. Thanks for reading. BL. NP
